Description

This space interprets the cultural and natural heritage of the three villages that make up the municipality: Guillena, Torre la Reina and Las Pajanosas. The building has the archaeological remains of a stretch of wall from the old Andalusi castle built into its interior. The ground floor serves as a visitor reception centre, while the first floor is devoted to interpreting the town’s natural heritage (focusing on the Water Route) and its cultural assets, with special mention of Guillena’s place on the Vía de la Plata and the Way of St James. The upper terrace looks over the bullring, once the castle’s parade ground. There is also a space for educational workshops, with a mural by the Córdoba artist María Ortega. Thanks to our Past View device, visitors can see Guillena castle in all its splendour. Audiovisuals, information panels, reproductions of archaeological objects and other innovative interpretation resources support the museographic narrative.
